Fishing On Playstation...What do you reckon?

My fishing enthusiast partner just went and bought a new game on sony Playstation...and it's fishing.
You catch fish!
It even has a rod which winds and the rod bends when you get a hooks up. BUT there's no fishy smell no paying for petrol or bait adn the catch....well there's no fish either!
Where's the fun? He's been playing for hours, I don't see it to tell you the truth...the fun that is.
I thought maybe it was because I'm not generally into computer games -but i do love dance mat...that's real participation and fun for all...But fishing.
C'mon
That is all about outdoors and hunting and providing...isn't it.
I guess there's no animal cruelty and no threat of over fishing...what do you think?

you are right - it is harmless, although I do get a little touchy when he complains that I lost him a hook up when I walk past the TV.
As for learning something...Meh - who can tell...it does make me laugh when he yells out things like phworr, this one's at least 8 pounds!
