Time To Fess Up!

November 15th 2006 01:10
I'm not proud to say this but just recently I have become addicted to The Young and the Restless...WOW, that looks even worse in writing.
I don't know how it happened, well yes I do, but I swear it wasn't intentional.

One day I was innocently leaving the TV, on with no sound, in the background as i worked, and on the slightest occasion I would raise my eyes and look at the pictures...just for a sec, just to see there were people around me while I worked.
Well soon, those glances turned into stares, and after 3 weeks, I turned up the sound.

Yes, all my cred is gone, I am even to the point where i tune in and try...I said TRY, to book "lunch" at that time...you know so it doesn't look so bad when i stop working!

But surely I am not the only one...wont someone please join me in their confessions...please.

P.S.
As a little saving of my 'grace', I don't know who the characters are, but I sure do know their stories.

After the dismissal of the Glass House, the parting words I took with me were "I'm angry". I wasn't personally angry, a bit sad yes, but Dave Hughes said "I'm angry" He said it repeatedly and the way he said it made me laugh...anything he says makes me laugh...he's a funny guy and I believe holds the essence of Australian humour.

"I'm aaaaaaaaangry". Can you hear him say that in a voice that no one can replicate? I am a fan, I confess - but there's nothing swooning or 'stalker' about my feelings for Dave (you can breathe a sigh of relief mate). I just want to know when and where you will appear on the tele next?

Are you going to sell out to one of the free to air beasts...will you slink around the cable stand up shows or stick to your pubs and clubs and comedy nights? I hope you are saying yes to all of these options, but PARTICULARLY to the 'selling out' bit.

WHY? I think more Australians need to be exposed to Dave Hughes, more people need to laugh and be reminded of a larrikin Australian attitude...and just quietly I'm sick of Australian comedy at the moment. The best laugh I've had (apart from dave) was a result of a Kiwi stand up...and yes I will claim him as Australian thanks!

But even the funnies that I do find...they are not mainstream - they are in small secluded bars or on cable tv or, once upon a time on the ABC. I know that is where they live - that is what they are bonded to and is part of the cult culture of comedy in Australia and in most places in the world...but I feel that it is time to sell out - sell out and wake up the masses I say.

Dave I think you're the one to do it, but whatever you do don't go corporate on our asses and become like a breakfast duo I once loved.

How POSH Are You?

October 29th 2006 21:17
Here's a bit of fun...

Victoria Beckham aka POSH spice has always annoyed me....particularly because she was the least talented spice girl and particularly beacause she is PARTICULARLY skinny and particularly plastic fantastic. But are my judgements unfounded...I mean is there perhaps a little POSH in all of us...I'm talking about men too. She's fought for this position in some way - she's made grabs at credibility (a swipe at a singing career post spice girls didn't help though).

So should we give it up for POSH, I mean is she little Miss Understood or do we just not get her?

As far as POSHness goes, we're all just a teensy bit fashion concsious...you have to admit, and although POSH really isn't the red carpet winner of the moment, she scrubs up alright and so can we all...
I'd say fashion conscousness for 3 points of POSHness...

Health and Fitness, I would also give this a 3, but 3 pojnts here would be extreme. Although a fit bod and a good eating regime is great, I think the lengths POSH has gone to are something I can't condone...I mean really, where's the steak, potatoes, pie and the odd glass of vino in that figure!

POSH Pose...How high do you hold your head? This counts for 2 on a posh scale, where you get zero for nose on the ground.

Fancy pants hubby. I'm only giving this one point on a POSHNESS scale of 10.

AND fInally, the celebrity point (1), do you know as many, hang with them or ARE YOU just as celeb as posh?

So on a scale of 1 - 10 in POSHness? how do you stack up...can you point the finger at her or are you just as posh yourself?

Here's How I rank:
Out of 3 for fashion I give myself 2. It's a high score i know and I'm not talking it up because I am no glamour day to day, but BOY am I conscious of it.
Health and fitness - for me 1.5. I just can't say no to some of the most important reasons for living...good food and wine!
I get 1 for pose - I'm so so.
ZERO for fancy hubby
And as for celebs...I get 0.1...I've seen a couple in the street!

My POSH rating is 4.6
I'm going to point the finger!

In A Tizz? See A Movie.

October 19th 2006 08:12
That’s what I did.

I’m self confessed Will Ferrell Obsessed, so of course I went to see Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. The movie is great, pure entertainment and enjoyment and thank you Will Ferrell for providing that, because although it had an amazing cast (John C. Reilly, Michael Clark Duncan, Jane Lynch and Sacha Baron-Cohen), Will easily steals the show. Of Course, I mean really is there anything this guy can’t do
